First Arabian monster

kSRO updated today its client, adding the very first arabian monster. It is a lv 120 unique called "Kidemonas" (could be translated different on the English version). It spawns on Jupiter Temple as an event on kSRO, so I'm not sure if it will be the final spawn place, but this makes clear that Arabia City, zone and cap 130 is coming really soon to Silkroad.

Some pictures of the new monster:

  5. Though the ID has ARABIA in it, i doubt it will be put into the Arabian area. Usually they don't add the same looking uniques to different areas. It would be lame if you beat this unique at 120 and at 130 you faced the same thing again, only then it would be 10 lvls higher.

And they better add the Arabian race, been too long since I've seen anything fresh. The European update was the time I last was excited about an update.

  7. They cant add a arabian race anymore. the arabian race should start in alexandria as first town (lv l-20) and go further to baghdad (lv 21-40) and then to hotan, like the other races too. thats what i know they planned it like that, but they had problems with the skill balancing of the arabian race. they even have ploblems between eur und chin balancing. as they designed alexandria with all the buildings, npcs, mobs, areas, they actually made it for lvl 1-20. So all what you see today was planned for lvl 1-20. just before the 110 cap came out, they decided to make a new cap instead of a new race and they just changed the lvl and the values for the mobs. for example the "uneg" was planned to be a lvl 1 mob (similar to eur with movia) and they make it stronger and lvl 101 and (i think) bigger. the same for the npc. actually they has 1-20 quests, but they have to changed them into lvl 101+ and make new quests. you will notice it, the quests in alexandria/egypt are telling unimportant (exept for the instances and the temple), sometimes "stupid" but funny storys.

in my opinion, silkroad was planned to have a max cap of 100.
lets tell a about the ingame story, yes there is one :D.

the journey of the player begins, because the former monsters of sro are turned into bad ones. so you, as the player, is send at the silkroad to find the reason why this is happened. and the reason is beak yung :D.
she fell in love with a human and this forbidden love was betrayed. beak yung was sealed into the qin-shi tomb and from there she planned to take revenge on the humans. so she cast a spell over the monsters and they become angry. thats it :)
and as the final quest, you have to kill beak yung and release the monsters from the spell, so they become friendly as they were before. the silkroad is saved and all are happy :D (end of the story)

this is the ingame story of sro and this is why sro normally should have a max cap of 100. the game starts in jangan (for the chins) and end in jangan. and thats the reason why the qin-shi tomb is that big and u need a lot of time to get to beak yung. because she should be the final boss(unique) in this game.

All the things that came after that (egypt, the instances, mirrow dimension) have nothing to do with the original sro-story and you know that when u read the quest descriptions. Also you will notice that the armor/weapons and some other things above lvl 100 will not "fit" into the game so good. for example the armors for chin and eur are the same at 11th or 12th deg and look "differnet" like all the degs before. thats because originally that armor was never planned and they have to design it in a short time(before they decided to make an 110 update) and thats why there is just one armor for chin and eur togesther instead of seperate for chhin and eur(like all the degs before).

  8. AND there will never be a indian or buddha race too. Because of the same skill balancing problems and the fact, that they added the flame mountain area as an instance.

lets explain this: the most of you will know that besides the arabian race there was planned a 4th race (indian/buddha). in game, the connection between india and hotan should be a area called flame mountain(like it will be in the west of roc mountain for arabia). look at your ingame map at the south of hotan there are mountains called flame mountains. there sould be the entrance to india/buddha world. but silkroad intoduces the forgotten world instances a time ago. some mobs wich are used in the forgotten world instances were originally planned to be in the "flame mountain" area in the south of hotan. there is even an forgotten world instance called "flame mountain". so instead of adding this new area in the south of hotan and "open" the way to india/buddha wolrd they make an instance out of it. this is why there will never be a indian/buddha race.
hint: read here and see what i mean

There is such a lot more to say, but i think thats enough :D

Note: this is MY opinion and MY thoughts and im NOT a native english speaker so excuse all my faults.

  9. SRO's cap was meant to be lvl 150(or 140). Konpaku knew that ages ago. The database of VSRO shows that they even planned to have 20 degrees(that would mean a cap around 200). Alexandria and the whole of Egypt was not originally even meant to be in the game, as the very old region map showed. It was just added as JoyMax came up with something new. The 2 towns of Arabia were supposed to be Bagdad(1-20) and Tehran(either in the 20-30 or 30-40 area). The reason why they made the new quests with boring story is probably that they just ran out of ideas. The mobs of Arabia would not have looked like the ones in Egypt. It would have been lame as fck killing Movias as lvl 1 mobs. A new race would introduce lots of new mobs.
Now the questline with the most story is probably the ShinMoo questline. It also has some pics about the story and stuff. Otherwise, there is no big main story to SRO, every Legend update has a some story to it though.
Stuff starts to change from 11d because they just anbandoned old plans and tried to make something new, but I don't like it.
Yes, the fourth race was meant to be in the game as well, called Indian, not Buddha.
Flame Mountain was to be a high level area, but they decided to make an instance instead. Though they can still make it, because right now, only the inside of Flame Mt exists. Look at Earth Ghost Valley for example, it is south of Donwhang and they also made an instance of it. Same can happen with Flame Mt, and I hope it will.
The indian area was planned to be south of China, Western China and Oasis Kingdom. The old KSRO site had the logos of the four races as well, I remember how the Arabian and Indian one looked, but I can't find them anywhere now. They are not in the pk2 of any version either.
SRO 2 will probably have the two races, but i hope it will have all four, instead of just Arabian and Indian.

    1. thank you for correcting me. remember this was what i thought, not what i know (i never looked in any pk2 files by myself). 20 degs? wow, hope that will never come true. and yes, i checked the old map again, alexandria or egypt wasnt planned, only "islam".
but in conclusion i maintain, islam and indian will never be released. (but hopefully in sro2)
