Devil's Spirit upgrade & Angel Spirit in iSRO

Blah, first of all: happy new year to everyone because this is the first post of this year :D I know I have been a bit lazy, but there was not enough interesting stuff to write about. Well, news for today are that Devil's Spirit pimping will now finally be added to iSRO. There is also an event for the Devil's Spirit reinforcement.

2012 New Year's Event!
Greetings. This is So-Ok.

We have prepared a variety of events from January 17 to January 31 to celebrate the update of Silkroad for 2012.

1. Reinforce Devil's Spirit by +3!! You get an Angel's Spirit as a gift!!
2. If you purchase an Angel's Spirit you get an Extension Gear item as a gift!!
3. If you upload a New Year's card, you get a Korean traditional dress "Hanbok" Avatar.

Please refer to the website for more information on events.

The reinforcement elixirs for the Devil's Spirit will most likely cost a good amount of silk though, and the item called Angel's Spirit has just the same effects as a Devil's Spirit, it only has a different look. There are no details on that "New Year's card" event yet.

Unfortunally no other information about the arabian region etc. have been added to the textfiles recently, so I guess it will still take a while until Joymax decides to release these updates.

kSRO updated this Wednesday their servers with the D13 update.
This is just like the D12 first update, the cap level is still 120 and also the skills. The only way for obtain the D13 items right now is upgrading your D12+6 items (I'm not sure about the plus since the image is in Korean).

Pet Update comes to iSRO

Today, Joymax released a manual patch file for iSRO which can be installed at next week's update. It contains the new pet system which is already implemented in kSRO.

Arabian regions / New battle arenas

With today's kSRO update, Joymax released information about the arabian regions:
- Desert field Lv. 121-123
- Dreamlike desert Lv. 123-125
- "Cagliari's lair" (some Boss area)
- Baghdad City

About the previously mentioned "Muhan" dungeon: This is a dungeon like the battle arena. It exists for levels 71-80, 81-90, 91-100 and 101-110 in solo and party versions. The description says:

Protect the Guardian Stone in the middle of the battlefield to receive your reward. You can use the Morph Stone to fight as a monster.

A new pvp battle arena will be added, it is called "Styria Clash".

Score points by securing treasure chests or by slaying opponents. The team that has scored the highest points within the time limit wins.
(Treasure Chest = 200 pts. each, PK = 20 pts. each)
An event monster will appear for the losing team from time to time. Slay this monster to obtain useful buffs for the entire team, and click the pot for a chance to obtain a rare artifact that provides Job EXP

New Pet system

So, Joymax announced today on the korean version a new system for the pets. Basically you can buy different stuff for your pets, tattoos, skills, armors, and that stuff, everything from item mall ofc. Also you will be able to ride some growth pets like they were ponys! Finally something interesting. Together with the info they released some pictures of them.

As I understood, those pets can both attack and be riden, but they cannot do both at the same time, which means you can't attack while you are riding it.

After this update should come the Arabian update, new race! yey!

...since I've posted here. Well, I played eSRO and some other stuff, and there weren't really many interesting news about SRO. Still, there were some and I will summarize them here.

The following information are taken from kSRO's newest files:

Survey system
Joymax included some texts about a survey system in which players are supposed to tell their opinions. It's unknown yet if the surveys are about game related stuff or if there are any rewards for them.

New Pet system
The new pet system includes equipment for attack pets as well as special skills for pets. From the Korean translations it seems that there will be a function to exchange SP between the pet and the player char somehow.

Muhan Dungeon
A dungeon named "Muhan" has been added. It exists in 2 versions, for 1 player and for 8 players. It will probably be released with the Arabian region update.

Arabian region update / Pet equipment

In the new kSRO client for the Legend 12 (Jupiter Temple) we found information about more upcoming stuff besides the Jupiter Temple dungeons. It mentions the area of Arabia with the city Baghdad!! (Yes, the City that was already mentioned months ago in a Joymax team meeting)

Arabia will include field regions with a canyon, a "military field" and some plain fields.

The Baghdad city will be very huge. It includes gardens, magic carpet sellers, and even a dungeon which could be in the middle of the town (it's in the same folder as the city!).

More details like if there will be a new race for the region (the islamic race that was announced years ago) are not known yet.

Other stuff: Pets will be able to wear equipment soon. There will be new pet summon scrolls for Dinosaur, Bird, Bear, Wolf, Ostrich, Cat and Dragon. All those animals can be equipped with claws, saddles, charms, scales and amulets. The equipment can even be strengthened, a STR increase alchemy stone exists.

kSRO: Legend XII Heroes Of Jupiter announced!

Joymax has now released a teaser website for the upcoming Jupiter Temple update which we already mentioned many times ^_^

As you may have noticed, there aren't many news at the moment (looks like Joymax already finished every update until the end of the year and just releases them whenever they want). I decided to post some old screenshots for you then ^_^ They are from beta tests, the dates are unknown.

D12: Weapon skills and other info

With the D12 update, comes a new skill included on every D12 weapon.
This skill depends of the plus of the item, and can be used anytime, not sure about the cooldown.

◆ +0 - Damage return (1Lv) 3% chance of physical / magic damage 10% return
◆ +5 - Damage returned (2Lv) 3% chance of physical / magic damage by 15% return
◆ +9 - Damage returned (3Lv) 3% chance of physical / magic damage 20% return
◆ +12 - Damage returned (4Lv) 3% chance of physical / magic damage 25% return

Together with that, the kSRO GM confirmed some new info, like if you fail plusing a D12 item, even if it try to be +0 -> +1, it can be destroyed, but for our pleasure there is an item on the Item Mall for protect our weapons from this (also lv 106+ mobs should drop it). With this item, when the enchant fail, instead of get destroyed, the item get a -1 plus. So if you fail a +3, it goes to +2, and if you fail a +0, it goes -1 XD
Also, both the Tessera (for upgrade the items from D11 to D12) and the Enhancers (the new elixir for D12 items) can be obtained through hunting, but only mobs from lv 101+ drop them.
Dropped Tesseras have lower chance of upgrading your weapon to D12, but don't worry, even if it fails, only the Tessera will be destroyed, not the weapon. The Item Mall ones have a 100% chance.

- Enhancer + Plus protector

- Destroying a +3 item without using a Plus protector

Commands for the GM console!

Hi guys, since I promised I'd do a list with less known commands for the GM console, here it is! Not all of these commands might work in the SRO version you're playing because of the client differences.

/isattack X
Well, I don't know what this command is for. But it writes a yellow "No - Object..." in the chat window :P

/lod
Quite awesome command to set the graphics a little higher. I took screenshots to compare the graphics with and without using the /lod command. (it not only fixes some graphic bugs but also the background gets a little more detailed)

/time X
Set for X a number between 0 and 24. It just changes the daytime.

/add_temppos X
Spawns a Mangyang with name X at your position. Seems to have no other function at the moment xD

/msgshow
An interesting command for all the coders out there. Whenever a packet is sent by the client, the opcode will be displayed in the status window at the bottom right.

/dropitem
Makes a list of all dropped items around you.

/screenshotfull
Disables the JPG compression for screenshots.

Set upgrade!

First of all, if you have a SON set, and you are already selling it because of the update. STOP RIGHT NOW!
The new degree doesn't comes with cap upgrade (yet!), so your normal nova items still worth something!
You can upgrade your seal of nova items to D12 sealed items, the minimum requeriments for the upgrade are:

- The item must be at least +7 or more.
- The item cannot be from Magic POP.

Depending on the item you are going to upgrade, you can get one of the 3 tiers of D12 nova items:

Normal D11 +7 ---> Seal of Nova D12
Seal of Nova D11 +7 ---> Seal of Moon D12
Seal of Nova Power D11 +7 ---> Seal of Nova D12
Seal of Nova Fight D11 +7 ---> Seal of Sun D12

When you upgrade your weapon to D12, it will lose ALL THE BLUES, WHITES AND PLUS IT HAD!
So basically, when upgrade you will get a clean sealed D12 item.

Comparision between the 3 kind of seals on D12:

For upgrade a D12 weapon you can't use normal elixirs (not sure about adv elixirs). Instead you use a new kind of elixirs, that I don't know yet from where they come from XD

jSRO Hunter vs Thief testserver

The jSRO testserver for the Hunter vs Thief update has closed yesterday. Of course I played there a bit and can deliver you some screens. Not many new stuff but testservers are always fun ^_^

This is what you get right after you create the character. Some differences compared to the last testserver. No nova items. :(

NPCs now sell 10d items too.

I played a bit with recipes. Unfortunally I didn't have enough materials to produce highest grade job equipment items >_>

It's a Game Master online at 4 AM japanese time. Do asians never sleep? :O

So-Ok offers a luck game where you can win items. You need an item, click the button to participate and if you have luck you will win an other item. For 50k gold you can win 1m gold (success rate was not even low).

Since most other things from the update are already known in iSRO I didn't specially tested them. It was still quite fun and really everyone was job-fighting!

By the way: this is where I got the new avatar pictures from :P

New dress: Little Red Riding Hood Dress

Already mentioned them many months ago, now Joymax has released the dresses based on the story "Little Red Riding Hood". The male costume is the wolf and the female is of course the girl.

Web browser on Silkroad

I just found this feature, which its pretty awesome for browse teh internet while you are playing Silkroad online. Imagine you are waiting for the Tiger Girl to spawn and you want to check our blog while waiting... so, why minimize the game and lose the chance of hunt her? Just use the web browser implemented on the game ^^

What do you need?
- A pk2 edit with GM console (or a real GM account!)
- Fingers

It's pretty easy, just open your GM console, and type "/web ". For example "/web www.silkroadsecrets.blogspot.com", and in some seconds you will be browsing our awesome blog while waiting for an unique, or receiving taxi! Awesome, isn't it?

Of course it can be used for visit any website, it plays flash (PORN!) and its scroll-able, since its build using Internet Explorer files.

I'll leave a pic here for have a better idea of how it works:

It should work for every Silkroad version which have Web Item Mall, or at least the srwb.dll inside the Silkroad folder.

Silkroad Mysteries #1: Autorun

Through the years, players have found many mysterious and hidden functions on the game client. One of the functions, which it's currently an urban legend, talks about the incredible powers of the "Autorun" function, an action which has been in our clients since the beginning of the game, waiting for someone to use its amazing powers for dominating the Silk Road.
We've decided to investigate the real function of that mysterious action, so we directly asked Joymax what this action is used for... and we got an insane reply which changed the way we look at Silkroad Online...

Yeah, you have read it right, this amazing action hides... nothing behind it.

Catapults and Rams - How to get them?

Joymax explained a shit about the whole new update that iSRO got this Tuesday. During this day I was experiencing myself the update and wasn't a real problem for me at all since I already dealed with it on kSRO, but most of the server didn't know a shit of how all of this worked. I had to spent 4 globals just for explain how the Item Linking feature works XD

Anyway, I decided to make small guides about this new complex update for make everyone understand how it works and don't get lost. Since the Fortress War it's coming, I will start with the Catapult and Rams creation.

Requesites:
1- Be a Guild master (not sure if works with all the guild permissions too)
2- Have enough GP's for spend in your guild (not too much)
3- Gold

Let's start.
1st: Go to the Hotan Guild Manager Musai and purcharse at least 10 of each element on the Guild store (I just tested the purcharse of them as a Guild Master)

2nd: Go to Jangan/Hotan Fortress Administrator and purcharse the 2 lasts scrolls (Ram Summon Scroll Recipe and Catapult Summon Scroll Recipe). Then use them with a right click on your inventory.

3rd: Open the Craft window. Go to the Siege tab and choose one of the two recipes. Then add the crafting materials you just have purcharsed on the Craft window:

4th: Press craft. You can make up to 1 scroll of each COS every 3 hours. Catapults and Rams can only be summoned during Fortress War, inside the Fortress War. That's all ^^

Take care with this, many people will use this for his advantage and try to scam players by selling this stuff at high prices.
I will be looking for suggestions on the comments about what guide should be the next. ^^

Q: What server is that?
A: This is a private testing server for GMs only.

Q: How many people can play there?
A: We don't know how many accounts exist. We only have access to 3 accounts at the moment.

Q: Where can I download the client?
A: You can't. You would need a specially modified pk2 which we won't release. So, you will not be able to play on this server.

Q: Are your characters on this server GMs?
A: Maybe these accounts have the GM flag enabled, but since GMs are also IP-bound and not just account-bound we can not use the GM functions.

Nothing interesting to say so I will post a pretty recent interview from Joymax offices ~

Notice about some interesting points:
1. On the first seconds they show their animation and render editor program. That from the video is a mob from Togui Village.
2. They read BAKUMAN!!! (min 0:16!!)
3. Fat guys are the ones who do the skinning task (0:54) (and also release 999 avatars with the same design and different colors, LEAVE NO PRISIONERS!!)
4. Art designs for upcoming maps at 1:01???

Joymax prepares new features

Joymax translated all Legend XI: Hunter vs Thief texts and the Fortress War changes from Legend X to English now. This could mean that Hunter vs Thief is coming to iSRO soon. But some stuff seems to be specially changed for iSRO. In kSRO Legend XI for example you have to pay 10 million gold to change your job. For iSRO, the current translation is:

You require 100,000,000,000 Gold to abandon your Job. Upon abandoning the Job, all information related to your Job will be initialized.
Are you sure you want to continue?

So, either a Legend VI+ with just small updates (fortress war) or a Legend VII with all stuff of kSRO's Hunter vs Thief will be released in the next weeks/months.

Joymax released information that a server move for characters will be possible. Translated from korean:

Server move has been registered on the list. Character movement is applied after the weekly routine inspection.

There are no information yet if that will cost something, but why should Joymax do it for free? :P

Joymax planning new game service

This has not much to do with Silkroad really, but may be still quite interesting. Joymax seems to need something new now after they announced to close their games Deco Online and Dark Eden. According to a korean news site they plan to release a FPS game called "Special Force" on their game platform in this year. Maybe this is also because SRO sales decreased a lot in the last year? ^_^

Legend XI - Preview

I wasn't expecting many changes on the Legend XI of kSRO, so I had no hurry (we babbe and me had also problems running the kSRO client lately), but when I finally got in I got amazed of so many stuff that changed, even while I didn't logged my character yet.
I'm going to prepare a full entry with all the features I'm finding on the new update, but there are so many and very confusing, so you have to give me some time to get, translate and organize those info. The whole entry will be done around this Sunday.
But for advance you some stuff, here you are some important things that I've found at this moment:

- Traders are gone forever from the job system.
- Old job NPC's doesn't work anymore, there are new 2 NPC's on each town
- All transport pets (including Item Mall transports) are gone, instead you now have a pet that is summoned with a job skill.
- Thieves do the trade, they transport the stuff now (not tested yet the Hunter side, will be confirmed this Sunday)
- There are job levels, mastery and many skills.
- New quickslots and UI
And much more!

But the complete information will come this Sunday, hehe.

Legend XI got released in kSRO today and as it seems, it does not contain the Jupiter Temple dungeon.

New items (very rough translation, might not be correct):

Can be used to add magic options on job equipment

Socket stones of all types can now also be made via a recipe, you need only elements for this.

[Guide] How to obtain the Nova A&B Egypt weapons.

As I promised when the update came out, I'm going to explain how to obtain the new Egypt weapons.

Differences between them

There is a total of 2 Egypt weapons. Know by their identificator on the game files (type A and B).
Stats between normal D11 weapon and Egypt weapons.

Type A: 22.3% stronger
Type B: 29.5% stronger

The main difference are the phy/mag/reinforces. All of them are higher than the normal D11 weapons. The only thing that doesn't change is the critical/blocking ratio.
We can know what kind of weapons are in-game by it's green indicator.

Type A Weapons: Power
Type A Shield: Protection
Type B Weapons: Fight
Type B Shield: Guard

There are 2 types of every A and B items, normal and Seal of Nova. I don't think an explanation of the differences between the normal and the nova ones is necessary ^^'
Having this in mind, we can proceed explaining how to get them.

How to obtain the Egypt Weapons

Type A

The A type is the easiest to get respect the others. There are 2 ways for obtain them:

1. By quest
2. By drop

1. By quest

The quest for obtain the A type weapons is called "The Sea of Resentment Collection". You can obtain it if you are over level 101. The NPC who gives this quest it's the Governor Senmut, in Alexandria.
Basically you only have to obtain all the talismans for complete the Collection Book of The Sea of Resentment. The talismans are dropped from the Treasure Boxes that spawns on the Forgotten World during the instances (randomly on specific spots, there is a max of 2 boxes per instance and sometimes they doesn't spawn), and from the last unique of the 101-110 instance, called Ghost Sereness.
This quest can be done only once, this means you only can obtain 1 Egypt weapon with this method.
The Talismans of the Sea of Resentment Collection Book are:

All of them should have the same drop ratio but some ppl says the most difficult to get is the Sereness's tears.
Once you have registed all the talismans on your Collection Book, go talk with Governor Senmute and he will let you choose the Egypt A Seal of Nova weapon that you preffer (you can't choose a shield as far as I know).

2. By drop

As simple as that. You can get it dropped when you kill Ghost Sereness on 101-110 instance. The drop rate of it is very low, and you can also get normal A weapon/shield instead of Seal of Nova.

Type B

This is the hardest type to get, the only way for get it is as drop, same as the type A. Only the Ghost Sereness from 101-110 instance drop it. The chance for get a Nova type B weapon from that unique is very low. As many stars have the instance, the chances of drop are higher.
So basically the only way for obtain it its pure luck, and do a lot of Forgotten World instances. If you get one you can get billions for it.

Recipes for the devil spirit

Yoh guys~
I got contacted by email from the user "vendrinszky", he sent me some pictures of the devil spirit pimping and showed how to obtain the Sabakun Jewel for plus-ing the devil spirit (we already reported about the benefits here). Thank you a lot for these interesting images ^_^

Sabakun's Jewel can be gained with a recipe. We already know that Legend XI will feature recipe alchemy. So maybe this will be available in kSRO with Legend XI too, as a feature which is not announced yet.

A stone that makes the char deal more damage on uniques only. I don't know yet how to get it, maybe also with a recipe.

Jupiter Temple: Up to level 120?!

In the new update for cSRO's testserver, the descriptions for the Jupiter Temple region have been added.

This update had a lot of cool stuff, but many other who disappointed me.
The Item Link feature didn't got added after all. For some reasons Joymax preffers that we keep using 1 global for say all the stats of 1 item >_>
Also the Dimensional Holes spawn ratio was as low as I expected, killed around 300 mobs without anything special, no holes, not even nova drop =3
I was expecting also the Guild GUI update but we didn't got it too.
On the other side, they finally fixed the bug which made the Pharaon Tomb uniques didn't drop any Copper/Iron coin. Now they drop the coins as they should do since the last legend, in fact I already got mines from Osiris ^^

Appart from that, a lot of confusion respect the new consigment system, ppl complaining cuz they have to pay taxes before the item gets sold, and fun with the new PVP modes.

So, I've decided to make this "guide" for solve any doubt that you get with the new Forgotten World update. I will mention also the most important changes that there will be on the update. I hope you enjoy this and it helps you on your doubts. If after reading this still have any doubt ask on the comments.

What's new?

On the new update there were many changes on some common functions of the client.

New PVP mode

The PVP Capes will be gone forever. Instead, you will have a new action icon on the Action (A) window. When you click there an small droplist like the extra slot skills bar will appear, and then you will be able to choose the PVP color (same as the old cape system).

New Stall System

Stall Network will get disabled from both client and server. Now you can make normal stalls, but Stall Network function will be gone. Instead a new NPC called "Consigment Jule" will appear on every town. On that NPC you can register the items that you want to sell, up to 50 items, and go do anything you want. When someone buy your items you will recive a message. By that way, the problem with the stallers filling the town it's gone. Also since you can register more items than on Stall Network, there will be more items available to buy.

Chat Link System

This new feature allows you to link the statistics of your items into the normal chat. You can link up to 3 items per message. For link an item you only have to Ctrl+left click on the item of your inventory and the link will appear on the chat input. For be able to use the link system on Global Chat and other chats (not sure which ones yet) you will have to buy a new Premium Item called "Expert" Premium.

Collection Book

A new menu will appear. Is related with the Forgotten World. As you complete the Forgotten World quests, you will get the Talismans. Those talismans gets placed on your Collection Book.
If you complete all the required quests on 100-110 map, you will get a Set new weapon type A or B.

New quest reward system

With this new quest reward system, you will be able to choose the reward that fits your character, also it gives more information about the reward.

What is the Forgotten World?

The Forgotten World is a new instance-based system, very similar to the Pharaon Tomb system. When you enter to the Forgotten World, a new instance is created on the server only for you and the friends that you invite. The aim is reach to the end of the instance by killing monsters, unlocking doors and killing mini-uniques.
For access to the Forgotten World, you only have to grind like you used to do, kill monsters and eventually some kind of bunnies with a big key and a witch hat will appear:

When you kill them they will drop Forgotten World holes. You can use those holes on the city. Only you will be able to see and use them. The holes lasts for 24 hours on your inventory. Once you teleport through the hole, you can summon your friends to your instance for do it together.
The instance difficulty is splitted on stars. As more stars have the hole, more difficult it is. It's possible to do the 1/2 stars instances alone without major problems, but the 3/4 stars instances are totally impossible if you don't go with a decent party.

Instance levels:

Togui Village: lvl 35~50 | lvl 51~60 | lvl 61~70
Flame Mountain: lvl 71~80 | lvl 81~90
Shipwreck: lvl 91~100 | lvl 100~110

Trading pocket skills
Pocket usage (1~2Lv)
A small pocket will be used to store items.
Backpack usage (1~2Lv)
A backpack will be used to store items.

Transport defense skills
Leather armor
Minor leather straps are fitted to protect the transport. Maximum HP of the transport will rise.
Iron armor
Minor steel mounting pads to protect your vehicle. Maximum HP of the transport will rise.

Capacity skills
Low transport capacity
Increase the carrying capacity of vehicles. Increases the inventory of transports.
High transport capacity
Increase the carrying capacity of vehicles a lot. Increases the inventory of transports.

Speed skills
Low transport speed-up
Increase the movement speed of vehicles.

At the moment it is unknown how to learn them, how they will be used exactly etc. We will try to find out more in the future.

kSRO: 12th degree, Jupiter Temple, event

Joymax has included some new information about the upcoming kSRO updates in today's update.

First of all, items of the 11th and 12th degree (it says so in the description) can be changed by an item to a different look.

Contains the wisdom of the sky dragon. Accessorie's/Shield's/Weapon's/Armor's inherent power will be woken up to change it into a new look, he said.

No further details on this are known yet.

Specific equipment for each job will exist (weapons, armors etc.) and they will be divided into categories, from weak types to strong types. Maybe you will need the item described above to strengthen these equipments.

Jupiter temple could be a bigger region than we expected. 83 mobs in total got the location "jupiter temple". Of course we can't know if Joymax will really include all of them (wtf, it's only level 108 - 110!), but if they do, it will be a good variety to chose from. A new event for kSRO is planned to begin at january 25th. In this event, players will be able to receive a buff that increases and absorbs up to 10% damage, maybe from an NPC in each city like iSRO had it already. Also the players can win very rare emblems from 2005 which were never available in iSRO. These "avatars" show the 4 uniques of the Qin Shi Tomb B5 rooms. To participate in the event, players will have to collect the 5 letters "H A P P Y" and exchange them at the So-Ok-Event NPC.

cSRO testserver even more boring

We tested the jSRO Forgotten World testserver, but there was not much to see because there didn't spawn any rabbits. Now, cSRO has updated their internal test server to the Forgotten World update too. There aren't any accounts - except ours and the GM's of course, so you can't test it, sorry ^_^

The testserver we got here is even more boring than jSRO's. Why? Simply because I just started with a level 1 character. >_>

In today's iSRO update you can see that Joymax translated a lot of Forgotten World texts to English.
Examples:

Legacy of God - Togui Village
A world filled with evil magic and wicked energy
Legacy of God - Flame Mountain
A world in which intense flame puts out hellish heat
Legacy of God - Shipwreck
An abysmal world filled with various monsters and ghost pirates

Crystallization of a Togui's tears. The ominous redness reminds one of blood, and yet, it has the kind of beauty that cannot be described with words. Historical records show how treasured it was in that that these red tears, which can only be created by Toguis, were offered to the Emperor as a gift after the generals eradicated the Toguis. Its beauty created much jealousy among gem cutters who then attempted to cut something that would come close to it. Yet, of all the red gems, there was none that could match up to the beauty of the red tears.
In Donhwang of China, a story is told of a young man who was killed by the townsfolk after becoming a Togui by eating strange ingredients in order to create a gem to give to his lover.

Bah, posting all the stories here would result in endless walls of text so I'll stop here. You can read them anyways when iSRO gets the update - which might be quite soon since they prepared the texts now :P

What information do we get about the new job system?

- It seems like you are able to get recipes to produce weapons, equipment and accessories with jobbing (Translated weapon description: Materials for production of assistive devices is the lowest level attacks. For Hunter.)
- You will need special stones to produce these equipments (Translated stone description: Is used to manufacture minor professional equipment)
- Runes that give you some STR/INT/HP/MP bonus can be gained. Not sure how...
- New job ranks will exist (at least for hunter and thief)
- 5 Job Skill Masteries will be added

Skill masteries: (crappy translation, i dont care :P)
Musical instruments

Flute and trumpet blowing skills are polished. To spread festive ring of traders playing the music, led by donkeys and horses, the cows were gathered.

Space utilization

Space more efficiently to develop their skills in writing. Mastering this technology for traders to use their writing pockets and backpack, he said.

Guards made

iSRO - Silk Gift

On the last notice Joymax changed his Item Mall policy, in order to enable one of the functions that was available since almost the begin on kSRO. It's called "Silk Gift". By this method users will be able to send Silk Gifts to others players through the in-game Item Mall, spending their already existing normal Silk. The sent Silk can be used by the reciver as normal Silk for purcharse Items from the Item Mall.
The new feature will be implemented on the next server inspection (9 of November). If you want to purcharse Silk you will have to agree with the new Item Mall rules.
Check the iSRO homepage for the fully changes on the Agreement service.

Job quests (Hunter)

Wutever, here you are some translated new job quests. Remember that the quests can only be done by Hunters or Thieves.
As I said on the last notice on September, there are 2 kind of quests. Quests have the same structure, only change the level and the required item/amount.

Hunter quests:

Type A:

◈ Mission: Collect 500 Gold Box
◈ Reward: Items based on a Job Exp 11040 (10% extra bonus for the entire collection) in safe mode, only 50% paid (can't find a better translation for this, >_<) ◈ Type: Infinite repeatable quest
◈ NPC: Trader Syabonneu (new special NPC)
◈ Monster: Monsters from level 100 to 109
◈ Scenario:
Professional level, the endless effort to raise is required. When you are ready to do etymology of 500 gold boxes. Gold box below the 100 level to 109 level can be obtained when it is hunting monsters. If a lack of time available, even if all the gold box, do not worry. 500 dogs found, uncle Zavulon need to collect as much as everyone would settle drill. iSRO's update from today gives us some new text lines which could show what Joymax releases in the future.

Webshop / Web Gacha
The Korean texts mention a 웹실크몰 (Web mall), 웹팡카드 (Web Gacha, Gacha is a luck game like Magic POP) and something like an item storage. Since these texts will appear ingame a direct connection between the websites and the game client seems possible. But the features are actually not a great invention. cSRO has a web mall with cheap silk items since years, jSRO has a cool web game where you get random cards and must collect them to get a reward. Just on kSRO/iSRO this is something new.

Production system
This seems to be a new alchemy system where you can make items using recipes. Example text strings: "Learn production recipe", "Do you want to learn how to make that item? [number] gold needed.", "If you learned a recipe you can create an item" and "Material is not required in the recipe."
Items of the categories Fortress War, Alchemy, Pets and Trade can be created. More details are unknown at the moment.

Triangular conflict update
Players seem to be able to invest gold in traders, and once the traders do a successful traderun the player who invested will receive a commission (or something like that). For this, a special Trading Box item will be needed. (I think the investor must buy the box and give it to the trader, and once the trade is finished he gets gold, not sure about how exactly it works)
If players want to get a job, jobs that already are used by a high amount of players can not be chosen anymore. If for example 80% of the server's players are traders and hunters, new characters can only chose thief as a job. Quitting the current job will cost 10,000,000 gold.
For job level-ups, gold and/or items will be needed in the future.

Silkroad 2

Was already known that Joymax is developing the sequel of Silkroad, Silkroad 2. I found a bit more details about it browsing around Korean tech news ^^

Basically says, that Silkroad 2 will have RvR. Also it will be centered on the myths and gods.
It's expected to be released during the 2011 (probably in summer). The location changed a bit and probably we are going to play as a new race, and not the ones we are used to.

iSRO new silk items / Halloween event

After the Halloween Dress 2010, a dress called Dragon Dress will be released. Joymax described it in the newest kSRO Media.pk2 file as a "Costume worn by Dragon Warrior" (google translator ftw).
Also, they already translated the texts of the Pharaoh Tomb Dungeon ticket to English what could mean that this item comes to iSRO soon. The English description:

Unlimited entrance chance to the Tomb of Pharaoh.
How to use
When you enter the Tomb of Pharaoh, usage begins.

A premium quest ticket has also been added and this item too has its English description already:

Premium Quest (Purification seed) can be executed one at a time.
How to use
When the item is clicked, usage begins. Having multiple Premium Quest Tickets will decrease each time the quest has been completed. During the Premium Item period, the premium quest can be done continuously if a premium ticket is purchased.

Silkroad Team Seminar: Jobbing = Fail / Baghdad mentioned

On October 13 there was a seminar with the development teams from Silkroad 1 and Silkroad 2. A level designer from Joymax reported about the results of the meeting.

The core system of a game is important for the player's experiences

Examples:
Lineage = mainly PvP => successful system
Mabinogi = rebirth => half succcess
Silkroad = triangular conflict => failed system

Why did the triangular conflict system fail?
- In early levels you can get a good amount of gold, but later on it's worth nothing.
- Level difference between thief players and trader players makes jobbing difficult
- Lack of content, jobbing gets boring after a while
- If you go jobbing you have less time to level up your character

The success of the core system is usually related to the game's success.

It's the very rare case that a game with a failed core system like Silkroad is successful. In this case, the atmosphere of the game world made it a success.

Baghdad is very much a concept of production and is divided into 3 parts, that means 3 large patches.

The city and the obstacles work with a minimum of equipment (I think he means with a minimum of work) rather than the production of multiple small patches.

Baghdad, hmm? Islam race or what? >_< I'll maybe send him a mail to get more information about what he means.

The World must be divided in 3 regions:

- The field where the core system must be the game content
- The dungeons in which you have bosses (Final Boss is based on the pattern and nature of planning the entire monster)
- The cities for resting and for transportation if necessary

The other things are very theoretical about the design of online game worlds itselves and not that interesting. If I get more information about why he referred to "Baghdad" as a city in SRO, I'll post it here~

iSRO GM confirms: Silk buying bots get no ban

[GM]Balacas has released some informations about the way bot bans work in iSRO in the official Forum (GM Lounge).

First, he gave a quite unimpressive answer: (translated from German to English)

Player:

Will silk buying bots also be banned?

[GM]Balacas:

Well, I already waited for this question. I'm not allowed to say that but you know the answer. I just say: Wimps!

But now he gave some more detailed information who gets banned and who not.

Player:

Big praise to you. I also noticed that some things changed. But only because wemade took over this crap.

(to all who speak German: ich konnte keine gute Übersetzung für "Saftladen" finden... hat jemand nen Vorschlag?)

[GM]Balacas:

"Crap" is a good expression! I'm really frustrated the last days. Well, WeMade changed some things but they are still too "soft".
Bots that spawn in the cities or have silk are not allowed to be touched. That's a catastrophe. I can understand that with the silk (suggestions to change that got ignored) and about the others in the cities I hear "They don't do anything or could be users". Oh I say it: it's sick! (Sorry, gotta say that)
I would kick them all out if they pay or not. Bot is bot for me. But I'm not allowed to do anything.

At this point I want to thank [GM]Balacas (who will read this post too I guess? :P).
I hope the bosses don't punish you for just saying the truth about the iSRO bot ban situation.

In the Screenshot Gallery published by 3ste_Muschi he admits that some GMs are using sBot. Interesting.

We've now the names of the quests, and the things that you have to do on them. Basically:

For Traders:
There are not quests for traders! Only Hunters and Thieves will be able to obtain and complete the job quests. Seems Joymax preffer give more rewards to the other jobs than add more benefits to the traders (which already recieve a reasonable amount of money delivering the stuff).

For Hunters:
* The quests can be obtained through a new NPC which is going to appear on every city (except Alexandria).
* They have 2 kind of missions:

Obtain quests items from the NPC/Player thieves.
Protect successfuly the traders on his travel (mission gets completed when you get the Hunter experience while the trader sells the goods).

* All the quests are repeteable unlimited times.
* The quests are sorted by level. This means you only will be able to complete the quests killing thieves and protecting traders which are around your level.

For the Thieves:
* The quests can be obtained through a new NPC which is going to appear on every city (except Alexandria).
* They have 2 kind of missions:

Obtain quests items from the NPC/Player hunters/traders.
Steal the goods from the traders and delivering them to the Bandit Den (mission gets completed when you get the Thief experience while you are selling the stolen goods).

* All the quests are repeteable unlimited times.
* The quests are sorted by level. This means you only will be able to complete the quests killing hunters/traders and stealing traders which are around your level.

Job quests

Today on the iSRO update Joymax added the names of some new quests items. Those items seem to be job quest items. They are special goods that you obtain by quests and you have to deliver them to other cities. So that's basically: when you trade you also can do quests. The new goods are sorted by level so there probably are unlimited repeatable quests. An example of one of them:

Again some news about jupiter temple: It will be a dungeon with monster level 108-110 according to the newest korean texts. It will have multiple areas listed below (rough translations).

The Worship Center will include an "Earth room", a "Jupiter room" and a "Juno room". What is in the fanatic's hideout is unknown at the moment. From the entrance of the jupiter temple you will be able to teleport to the Worship Center and the Fanatic's Hideout.

SRO's ingame bot - bye bye handgrinding!

The newest update in kSRO gives us again some hints about what Joymax (or WeMade? whatever) plans for the future updates of the game. We found some texts about a new "Macro" function. This new function will have the 3 categories "Auto Potion", "Auto skills" and "Auto hunting". Automatic hunting? Hell yea, an ingame bot! That's what the SRO players have been waiting for... (or not)

But let's go deeper in the details.
With the new Auto Potion, you can set HP and MP potting, but also pets can be healed and feeded automatically with it now. New HP/MP recovery tickets can be used too by this Auto-Pot.
The Auto Skill function basically uses your buffs (with automatic weapon switches) and you can set skills to attack mobs.
In Auto hunting you can set a range in that automatically mobs will be killed with the selected skills. You can also set when to return to town (like no more pots or have to repair, after 1 hour etc.), when to use zerk, what to do when you die, if you want to pick up items (no hints about an item filter yet) and if you want to use a repair hammer or repair your items in town. If it can automatically return to the leveling spot is unknown yet.

So, basically Silkroad is getting a bot system which works ingame. What are the consequences?
- Botting will (at least with this bot) become LEGAL, no more bot bans
- People will handgrind even less than before
- Bot companies will have less sales (depends on the bot features)
- Joymax/Wemade/whatever could sell this function for silk and get some profit

We have to see in which versions it will be added. I think some foreign Silkroad publishers (cSRO/vSRO/kSRO/jSRO/rSRO/thSRO/tSRO) would not want this feature to be added and keep fighting against the bots.
We can't do anything against that new feature. If it comes, Silkroad could finally turn into a game where there are no handgrinding people anymore. But still, it is the player's decision if they use it~

New silk items planned

With the kSRO update from today, Joymax gave us some facts about new silk items that may come in the future:

Connection ticket
Quite simple: When you use the ticket, you can login to the server all time even when it is crowded. The item has no other function but this, so it is only useful if you don't want to buy a full premium ticket. ~A reason to disable the anti-goldbot-statues on iSRO again :P

Bronze EXP/SP tickets
A bronze EXP ticket can either run for some hours only or some days (from 5 hours up to 14 days different tickets will be available). It will give an EXP bonus of 20% while killing mobs, no SP-EXP bonus. For getting 20% SP-EXP, a bronze SP ticket will be available too.

50%/100% EXP/SP tickets
These tickets will run 1 hour and, just like bronze tickets, increase EXP or SP depending on the ticket you buy. These tickets can increase EXP or SP gained either by 50% or 100%.

HP/MP recovery ticket
HP/MP Recovery tickets will decrease the potion delay of characters. In the description it says that chineses will have a 1 second potion delay while using the ticket, and european characters will have a 15 second delay (what actually doesn't change it lol). These tickets last either 1, 2 or 3 hours.

Silver Premium / Premium / Premium Plus
The "old" premium tickets will be added for shorter times, like 1 or 2 weeks.

Jupiter Temple / Shard system / iSRO's Unique Event

Some region names of Jupiter Temple have been added into the textfiles of iSRO:
"Worship Center", "Cult's lair" and 3 rooms. These 3 rooms will contain a unique mob each. The last room has the name "Room of Jupiter", so maybe Jupiter will be a unique :P

An other line of the textfiles contains something "Server Selection Improvement" with the already english translated line "Located in". This could be a hint about the shard system to show what players/uniques etc. are located in which shard.

The unique event of iSRO seems to be a new thing, but in fact it is quite old. Joymax hasn't been really creative. The same event already existed in kSRO in the beginning of 2008:

Exactly the same uniques and exactly the same positions. Well, but since it is the first time that there's a unique event on iSRO it can be really seen as someting "new" - for the players. ^_^

Dungeon tickets / New avatar dress

Again, a new silk item in kSRO: The dungeon tickets! Normally, you have a limited number of times you can enter a dungeon (like 2 times per day in Pharaoh Tomb [5 with Premium+ in iSRO] or 1 time per day for the Forgotten World). Now, with this silk item you can enter a dungeon directly as often as you want.

jSRO FAQ: Channel / Shard system coming

jSRO's publisher GameOn has released a FAQ some days ago where they answered some questions from the users about balancing the game and future updates. GameOn has posted this question (rough translation):

Will shards be integrated?

■ Answer
We have examined how to integrate a shard system.

However, when and how to integrate shard is unknown,
we have to make more adjustments.

When it is finalized, we will announce it at the official website.

So, a shard or channel system will come. Of course this has some advantages as shown in my "Explaining the shard system" comic ^_^ (don't think the interface etc is real, it's just photoshop :P)

But seriously: How should a system like this work on SRO? Think about uniques. Think about Fortress Wars and the Battle Arena. Will the shards/channels have mixed zones for these things? Well, we will see how it will be done in jSRO...

[kSRO] New item: Elixir scrolls

Joymax will introduce a new item in kSRO. It is the Elixir scroll.

The elixir scroll exists in 2 variations:

^ Elixir scroll (+2)

^ Elixir scroll (+3)

With these scrolls you can make an item +2 or +3 higher for 30 minutes. You don't use the alchemy window, you right-click the scroll and then the item you want to use it on. When you use it, your character will glow:

After this, the item's plus has increased.

In my opinion it is just an other method to get money from the players. Sure people would buy it for PvP etc. to get advantages >_<

New Joymax CEO is from WeMade!

And guess who this person is: He is the Managing director of WeMade.

Since there was not so much to do (where the hell are the rabbits?), I decided to explore some other things.

Yea, in jSRO (also kSRO) you can enter these rooms in the Qin Shi Tomb. They were disabled in more popular SRO versions because they caused lags.

With keys dropping from the Qin Shi Tomb mobs you could open the boxes and they could spawn mobs or give items as a gift.

Later I went into temple where I met some nice Mangyangs :D

Oh, and GZ to this guy who managed to make his weapon +8. Quite difficult since weapon elixirs are rare ^_^

First impressions of the jSRO Testserver

I was lucky and got in the jSRO testserver for the Forgotten World update. I want to share some screenshots, but there are none of the Forgotten World dungeons yet (no rabbits spawned while i was online lol)...

After you create a char...

...you get all this stuff xD

Since I didn't have that many things to do (most are already known from kSRO anyways) I tried the socket system. To make a socket on an item you need the Magic Stone of Sockets (marked red). After you do that you can put Socket Stones (marked yellow) in the socket.
Both items can be bought on Alexandria Grocery shops. You can only use them on 11D items.

In the end, this results in having buffs on your weapon / chest.

These buffs can be put in the skillbar and used like normal skills.

Oh, and this was just some damage test :P

Well, I will see if I can get some teleporter stones for the Forgotten World (Shipwreck). The testserver will still be on for ~30 hours ^_^

"Silkroad 2" confirmed / Future of Silkroad Online

Joymax' level designer (the guy who was responsible for the awesome Forgotten World dungeon's design) has released a statement about the future of silkroad (translated to english):

"At the moment I am not satisfied with the game content. Leveling is boring and we have to put more other things into the game.
[...]
We failed to meet expectations from the users and I am sorry about that. We have to care more about the users' opinions.
[...]
A team is already starting the work on a project called "Silkroad 2"."

So, "Silkroad 2" will come... in some years maybe :P
